RJ45 Ethernet Cable Color Coding

Ethernet cable can be used for connecting network devices using UTP cable. Its ends with RJ45 connector. The UTP cable, there are 4 pairs or 8 wires in a variety of colors that are used to connect to RJ45 and 8P8C connectors. Ethernet cable color coding as standardized by EIA(Electronic Industries association) and TIA(Telecommunication Industry Association) there are two standard EIA/TIA-568-A and EIA/TIA-568-B.

T568B

T568Bis the standard used in the vast majority of Ethernet installations in the United States for RJ45 color code. It is the most common technology used for cabling in companies.

T568A

T568Ais the most popular standard used across European as well as Pacific countries. It is also employed throughout United States government installations.

Rollover Cable

It is utilized to control an Cisco network or switch. One end is connected to a Laptop or PC, the another end is connected to the router or Switch. The cable is often referred to as Console Cable or Yost Cable(Serial Cable-Standard , which was proposed by Dave Yost). On one end of this cable is an RJ45 connector, while the other ends are DB9 serial port connector.RJ45 connector connects to a router or switch, and DB9 connector connected to laptop or PC. Currently USB adapters for serial port connections to USB as well as USB type consoles are available on marketplace. 

Rollover cable is also known as rollover due to the fact that it has of the opposite pin assignments on both end i.e the pin1 side on the connector is connected to Pin8 on another side connector . Similarly pin2 on one side connector is connected to pin7 on the another side connector and the list goes further. 

Loopback Cable

It is used to test physical ports. Loopback cables redirect the output back to itself. It is utilized to determine the cause of network issues.

RJ45 Loopback Cable

Rj45 Loopback cable is used in Ethernet as well as FastEthernet in which four contact are used as the transmitter pair , and receiver. Gigabit Ethernet uses all eight contacts, in which the receiver and transmitter are looped or redirection.
