Justin Bieber Performs Live on Metaverse Concert

The singer will perform a song from the Justice album at a live virtual concert on the Wave virtual entertainment platform on November 18th.

Viewers can use the motion capture suite to interact directly with Bieber to control their digital avatar. “I believe deeply in Wave and love this platform as a new way  to connect with  fans,” said Bieber, Wave investor. “We are excited to be able to use this technology to connect people  and connect with fans around the world. I want to see them see this live show.”

The Virtual Concert follows a similar event at Epic Games' Fortnite, which hosted a very popular in-game concert last year and earlier this year with Travis Scott and Ariana Grande  respectively.  Wave COO Jarred Kennedy said he was a fan of  Fortnite concerts, but said that the Wave platform gives fans the ability to interact with performers in real time.

“Because it's live, you can interact with the experience and performers, so when you're on the [Wave platform], fans can show up on webcam during performances or see their names in front of the dancers. Or interact with or enhance the actor's avatar,” Kennedy told The Hollywood Reporter.

“There are so many different ways to get involved in a live show in  a format that we think is really special.” 4,444 past Wave concerts include performances by  another Wave investor, The Weeknd. John Legend; Tinache and Galantis.  Fans who want to chat with Bieber during the virtual concert can sign up for Wave for free, but anyone can watch the show  live  on Bieber's YouTube channel.

The concert starts at 18:00. Reruns on November 18th (Pacific Time) will be available in the US and Canada on November 20th at 8pm. PT and November 21st and 11:00 PT.
